Innocent hotelier trapped by corporate failure
In a bitter example of how an innocent party can be left to carry the financial can following a corporate failure, the owner of a hotel who paid £110,000 for diesel powered generating equipment has received judicial sympathy but ended up with neither the goods nor his money.

Pamela Moss has worked for Sydney Mitchell LLP, leading Midlands’ law firm, for 30 years.
In celebration partners and staff joined Pamela in a few glasses of champagne and lunch in its city office in Waterloo Street, Birmingham.

Sydney Mitchell Golf Day
On 11th September 2014 Sydney Mitchell will be holding its Charity Golf Day in support of the Maria Watt Foundation and the Birmingham Women's Hospital Charity. The event takes place at the Robin Hood Golf Club, St Bernards Rd, Solihull, West Midlands B92 7DJ.
The Stableford Competition will begin with a Shotgun start at 1pm. Registration, tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches will be from 11.45 am finishing at 5 pm. A buffet will be served from 5.30 pm and prizes awarded at 6.30 pm.

Outgoing Solihull Mayor Councillor Joe Tildesley made a special visit to leading Midlands’ law firm Sydney Mitchell LLP to thank partners and staff for their generous charitable support of the Last Night at the Solihull Proms held at Bushell Hall, Solihull School. The event made over £7,000 for the Mayoral Charity Fund which includes Age UK Solihull and the Citizens Advice Solihull.

Whilst over recent years the divorce rate had fallen, in the last 12 months that trend appears to be being reversed. There is some evidence that as the housing market continues to pick up and individuals start to feel more economically stable they are prepared to take steps to end an unhappy relationship.

A case recently heard by the Court of Protection has illustrated that the courts are willing to uphold the right of patients to refuse medical treatment, even where treatment would reduce the likelihood of the patient dying.

SYDNEY MITCHELL CHARITY GOLF DAY WINNERS - 2014
Insol won the inaugural Sydney Mitchell Charity Golf Day Competition held at Robin Hood Golf Club Course in Solihull on 11 September. They won with a remarkable 90 points, closely followed by Freedom Technical and Merito Financial Services in third place. The longest drive was won by Tom Addyman, Santander and nearest to the pin by Ed Hodgson.

Sydney Mitchell Charity Quiz Night - 24 February 2015
On Tuesday 24th February, Sydney Mitchell will be holding its 7th annual quiz night. All entrants are welcome and teams will be competing for the title of Sydney Mitchell Quiz Team Champions 2015. All funds raised from the event will go to our nominated charities.
The entry fee is £100 (plus VAT) for a team of four and the evening will include a buffet, cash bar and raffle.
