FUNDRAISING BALLOON RACE TO CELEBRATE 250 YEARS FOR LAW FIRM SYDNEY MITCHELL
Leading Midlands’ law firm Sydney Mitchell LLP launched 250 balloons at Hogarths Hotel, Dorridge, at its event to celebrate the firm winning the Birmingham Law Society Law Firm of the Year and its 250 years in business – 1763 - 2013.
The Mayor of Solihull and Karen Moores, Partner, Sydney Mitchell thanked all for their support in helping to raise much needed funds for two great charities the Tiny Babies Appeal for Birmingham Women’s Hospital raising funds for specialist neonatal equipment and the Maria Watt Foundation raising funds for teenagers and children with cancer.

In a decision which starkly reveals that those who dig their heels in and refuse to compromise in employment proceedings are likely to be hit in the pocket, a worker who turned away ‘out of hand’ her local authority employer’s reasonable offers to settle her case has been ordered to pay substantial legal costs (Sud v London Borough of Ealing).
Mrs Sud began working for Ealing Borough Council in 1986 as a Contracts and Review Manager.

The entry fee is £120 (including VAT) for a team of four and the evening will include a buffet, cash bar and raffle.
