Furlough Scheme Extended until the end of October!

Rishi Sunak has announced that the scheme is going to be extended for four months, until the end of October 2020. It is said that until the end of July, there will be no changes to the scheme, however from August to October 2020, the scheme will continue on the basis that furloughed employees can be brought back part-time.

Full details of the changes will not be published by the end of May.

As you know, Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, announced that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (also known as the furlough scheme) will remain open until 31 March 2021. For claim periods running to January 2021, employees will receive 80% of their usual salary for hours not worked, up to a maximum of £2,500 per month. The percentages for February and March will be reviewed by the Government on 31 January 2021.
