In a decision which starkly reveals that those who dig their heels in and refuse to compromise in employment proceedings are likely to be hit in the pocket, a worker who turned away ‘out of hand’ her local authority employer’s reasonable offers to settle her case has been ordered to pay substantial legal costs (Sud v London Borough of Ealing).

Mrs Sud began working for Ealing Borough Council in 1986 as a Contracts and Review Manager.
